I needed a cake 2 weeks before my baby shower which was on 03/30/2024. This place made it happen. Dulce de leche on the bottom and Guayaba on top. It was so good and everyone loved the cake. There wasn’t any cake left when the party was over. Great customer service and everyone was very nice. Will purchase more cakes in the future.
Overview
At first glance, the storefront at 2428 FL-7, Margate, FL 33063 looks like a charming bakery, but step inside and you’ll quickly realize it’s so much more. Dominican Cakes & Bridal Shop blends the heart of a family-run diner with the artistry of traditional Dominican baking and the elegance of bridal design. It’s the kind of place where the sweet aroma of fresh cakes fills the air, and every customer is greeted with a warm smile that makes you feel like part of the family.
The first thing you notice when walking in is the display case overflowing with pastel-perfect cakes. These aren’t your typical store-bought desserts-each one is handcrafted using time-honored Dominican recipes passed down through generations. I remember visiting on a Saturday afternoon and trying a slice of their famous vanilla cake layered with guava filling. It was moist, fluffy, and had just the right touch of tropical flavor. One of the staff explained that the bakery uses imported ingredients from the Caribbean to maintain authentic taste, something that instantly sets them apart from larger chains.
Beyond the cakes, the menu includes a range of local favorites that complement the bakery’s sweet creations. You’ll find savory empanadas, pastelitos, and strong Dominican coffee brewed fresh for every order. The diner-style setup makes it easy to grab a quick lunch or sit down for a relaxing bite. Regulars often rave about the balance between homemade comfort food and gourmet presentation. According to a local review on Yelp, the “bizcocho dominicano” here tastes exactly like what you’d find at weddings back in Santo Domingo-a true testament to authenticity and expertise.
Speaking of weddings, what truly makes this place special is its dual personality. The attached bridal shop transforms dreams into reality for brides seeking elegance and tradition. From lace gowns to tiaras, the boutique offers personalized fittings and designs that celebrate Dominican culture while embracing modern style. The owner, who has over twenty years of experience in the bridal and pastry industry, personally oversees both the cake and gown designs for weddings, ensuring that every detail matches the couple’s vision. She once shared how her mother taught her to decorate her first wedding cake at age ten-proof that this craft is deeply rooted in experience and family legacy.
It’s not just the taste or the dresses that keep customers coming back; it’s the sense of trust and care. Every order feels personal. Whether it’s a birthday cake for a child or an elaborate multi-tiered wedding centerpiece, the team treats each project like a work of art. Reviews consistently highlight their professionalism, punctuality, and willingness to customize designs to perfection. They also cater to dietary preferences, offering options like sugar-free or gluten-free cakes without compromising flavor or texture. According to data from the American Bakers Association, customer satisfaction increases by over 40% when bakeries provide customization options-a trend this shop clearly understands and applies effectively.
For locals in Margate or visitors exploring nearby areas like Coconut Creek and Coral Springs, this spot is worth a visit. It’s rare to find a place where you can savor a slice of tropical heaven, sip a freshly brewed café con leche, and then browse through delicate bridal veils-all under one roof. The combination of food, fashion, and heartfelt service makes it a cornerstone of the community. And for anyone searching for that perfect Dominican celebration touch, from the menu to the wedding aisle, this family-run gem delivers a genuine taste of home infused with artistry and passion.

Ordered a birthday cake for my mother-in-law and I couldn't have asked for a better cake. We chose a rose gold theme and the cake had dulce de leche and pineapple filling. This cake was so delicious!!!!! My mother in law loved it!
A family owned business. They're very friendly and work with you when it comes to cake designs and pricing. Thank you for making our cakes every year! We always ENJOY THEM!
I needed a last-minute cake 4 days before my daughter's birthday and was assisted by Michelle. My goodness, the cake looked and tasted phenomenal! Definitely recommend.
First I want to thank Michelle and the staff for making this possible! I’m from New York and I was flying down to West Palm to celebrate my sons 15th birthday. Instead of just grabbing a cake I decided to ask my son which cake he would like rather than picking up something typical such as: ice cream cake, chocolate cake or cheesecake. Noooo… he decided he would like Tres leche cake (never mind I had 48 hours until my flight ) so like most parents do we go and find it… I started to panic but my fiancé says don’t worry!! Let’s just say she was right lol, so we went online and came across this place and called, from the minute Michelle answered the phone I knew this was gonna be the answer to my prayers !!! Customer service was top tier the minute she answered the phone, she explained the process and just like that the blessing happened. I paid for the order via Zelle set a pick up time and done! The best tres leche cake I ever had!!! My son was super happy!!!! I could tell they genuinely care, coupled with this Michelle called the day of pick up to confirm, called afterwards to see how the party went, and did we enjoy the cake. Thank you guys again for helping us make this moment super special for my son!
The only Dominican cake worth eating in Broward county. This is the second time buying from here and it was once again perfection. Ordering was easy. Pick up was seamless. I must mention she has fresh fresh fresh crispy perfect delicious empanadas there as well. We enjoyed eating those on our 30mins drive home from picking up the cake. The cake was sooooo delicious. Only disappointment I had was going in the fridge and finding the family had eaten the rest on me!
Picked up our first cake today. Simple guava cake. Oh... My.... Gawd....literally one of the best, flavorful cakes I have ever had. Found this place simple Google map search and listen, this does not disappoint. My wife placed an order for pick up 2 days prior and no issues. Customer service over the phone 100%. Very friendly and charismatic. Once I picked up the cake today afternoon, she was very friendly and amazing. Decided to pick up 2 chicken empanadas and OMG... If you are in need of a cake.. Dominican cake.. Soft, flavorful.. This is it.
